MiniNet Disclaimer

MiniNet is a free, experimental network-management and reverse-proxy project. Testing it can change how your computer resolves names and handles local network traffic.

Use at your own risk: This is a Community Alpha intended for testing. Do not assume an alpha build is appropriate for critical, production, business, or safety-sensitive infrastructure.

Experimental software

MiniNet is actively being developed and tested. Bugs may cause routes to fail, names not to resolve, ports to become unavailable, HTTPS connections to fail, traffic to be blocked unexpectedly, or settings to require manual repair.

Network configuration

MiniNet can interact with Windows networking features and may request Administrator access to apply integrations. Incorrect configuration can affect local name resolution, proxy access, ports, certificates, firewall-related behavior, or access to local services.

Security is not guaranteed

MiniNet includes security-related tools, but no reverse proxy or security feature can guarantee protection against every attack, vulnerability, configuration mistake, or unauthorized-access attempt. Users remain responsible for securing the applications and devices behind MiniNet.

HTTPS and certificates

Importing, trusting, generating, or using certificates can have security consequences. Protect private keys and only trust certificate authorities you understand. A working HTTPS connection does not by itself mean the underlying application or network is secure.

Back up before testing

Keep backups of important data and configuration before applying MiniNet changes. The built-in backup feature is useful for MiniNet configuration, but it should not be treated as the only backup of important systems.

No professional guarantee

MiniNet and its documentation are not a substitute for professional network administration, cybersecurity, legal, or compliance advice. Organizations with regulatory, privacy, or security requirements should independently evaluate whether the software is appropriate for their environment.

References to other software, reverse proxies, operating systems, services, or projects are for explanation and comparison. Unless specifically stated otherwise, MiniNet and Bow / Potter Service are not affiliated with or endorsed by those third parties.
